Curriculum
VIDYA is a strong believer and promoter of holistic and all-round development of its students and follows CBSE curriculum which is not only relevant to the 21st century but also extremely practical and precise in its approach. VIDYA believes learning is an ongoing process. Thus a vibrant curriculum may take the individual into the realms of co-existence with the immediate and future environment. It makes the individual think!
As the school is affiliated to CBSE , up to Senior Secondary Level the school adheres to the curriculum/examinations and academic schemes stipulated by the Central Board of Secondary Education evolved by the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi
Pre-Primary & Primary Section
Learning starts at the Pre-Primary level. VIDYA School has a blend of Montessori kindergarten and experiential learning for these classes. Learning by doing is the key method coupled with individual attention. The education programs for these classes have a special focus on character building . Activities like Dance, Music & Yoga are also conducted.
Field trips and hands-on work make the teaching-learning very interesting. Extracurricular & co-curricular activities are an integral part of the learning program, which focuses on all round and holistic development of the child.
Teaching Methodology
The teaching space stands out as a very dynamic environment where students from different backgrounds with varying abilities and personalities are brought together and it is a teachers responsibility to make everyone feel comfortable and at the same time educate them all together. It is thus important to be an effective teacher who can implement the creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet the individual needs of the students.
Visualization
Bring dull academic concepts to life with visual and practical learning experiences, helping your students to understand how their schooling applies in the real-world.
Cooperative learning
Encourage students of mixed abilities to work together by promoting small group or whole class activities.
Inquiry-based instruction
Encourage students to ask questions and investigate their own ideas this will help them improve their problem-solving skills as well as gain a deeper understanding of academic concepts. Both of which are important life skills.
Differentiation
Differentiate your teaching by allocating tasks based on students’ abilities, to ensure no one gets left behind.
Technology in the classroom
Incorporating technology into your teaching is a great way to actively engage your students, especially as digital media surrounds young people in the 21st century. Mobile devices, such as laptops, tablets, can be used in the classroom for students to record results, take photos/videos or simply as a behaviour management technique.
Behaviour management
Implementing an effective behaviour management strategy is crucial to gain your students respect and ensure students have an equal chance of reaching their full potential.
